It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a five-hour ride, so aside from the gloriousness that is the Indian rail service, there isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t a whole lot to report.<\/p>\n<p>Our hotel is a former palace on a hill overlooking the city, but as this is not a regular stop on the tourist circuit, there isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t enough cash flow to keep it in top condition. It has a quaint charm though, with its high ceilings and open courtyards, so even though it lacks a giant \u00e2\u20ac\u0153S\u00e2\u20ac\u009d on the side, it will do for a few days.<\/p>\n<p>Diwali is still in full swing here (we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been told it is a four day event), so wander around, hitting a few street carts before enduring another long, fireworks-filled night.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re on the move today to a city called Ajmer, which is the nearest train stop to Pushkar.
