There I said it. Knowing this one tiny weakness, my events coordinator has scheduled an outing to Mijas, a small town up in the hills overlooking the coast. It feels like a bit of a stretch but, with the weather still only so-so, it is hands down a better option than flicking through all of the foreign language channels on the TV again, hoping that I&#8217;ll find the English one I somehow missed the previous ten times.<\/p>\n<p>Apparently, Mijas is famous for donkey taxis. Walking out of the parking garage, I assumed that, somehow, the locals heard we were coming and knew of my fellow adventurer&#8217;s penchant for donkey&#8217;s on hilly terrain so made appropriate arrangements. Alas no, this is simply a taxi stand in these parts.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chadtown.casaroberts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_2037-copy.jpg\" alt=\"IMG 2037 copy\" title=\"IMG_2037 copy.jpg\" border=\"0\" width=\"450\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chadtown.casaroberts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_2041-copy.jpg\" alt=\"IMG 2041 copy\" title=\"IMG_2041 copy.jpg\" border=\"0\" width=\"450\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I have to admit, Mijas has a good feel about it. Up in the hills mass construction has yet to arrive and the views are fantastic. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chadtown.casaroberts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_2046-copy.jpg\" alt=\"IMG 2046 copy\" title=\"IMG_2046 copy.jpg\" border=\"0\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chadtown.casaroberts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_2040-copy.jpg\" alt=\"IMG 2040 copy\" title=\"IMG_2040 copy.jpg\" border=\"0\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There is also an old, small town bullfighting ring that you can wander through.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chadtown.casaroberts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_2045-copy.jpg\" alt=\"IMG 2045 copy\" title=\"IMG_2045 copy.jpg\" border=\"0\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chadtown.casaroberts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_2043-copy.jpg\" alt=\"IMG 2043 copy\" title=\"IMG_2043 copy.jpg\" border=\"0\" width=\"450\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Good to see they have reserved seating for me should I ever make it back on game day.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chadtown.casaroberts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_0673-copy.jpg\" alt=\"IMG 0673 copy\" title=\"IMG_0673 copy.jpg\" border=\"0\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There is also plenty of shopping here (woohoo!) and we manage to find a few souvenirs for the boys before piling back in the car and heading back down to the coast.
